Hend Sabry and Alia Bhatt Receive Golden Globes Honors
The Golden Globes organization has announced that Tunisian actress Hend Sabry and Indian star Alia Bhatt will be recognized this year with the Omar Sharif Award and the Golden Globes Horizon Award, respectively. The honors were revealed during a reception at the fifth Red Sea International Film Festival edition.

Omar Sharif, the first Egyptian-born actor to win a Golden Globe and a three-time Globes winner for Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, remains a defining figure in the awards’ eight-decade history. The Omar Sharif Award honors his enduring legacy and influence on global cinema. The Horizon Award acknowledges an emerging creative force whose rapid rise in entertainment is making a notable impact on both regional and international culture.
Sabry expressed that she is deeply honored to receive an award named after a cinema legend from her region. The 83rd Golden Globes, the season’s inaugural major awards show, will be hosted by Nikki Glaser, a comedian and actress with nominations for Golden Globes, Grammys, and Emmys.
