Unveiling the Gold Exploration Update: A Journey into the Selta Project
Uncovering the Golden Secrets of Australia's Northern Territory
First Development Resources plc (FDR), a UK-based mineral exploration company with a focus on Australia, is thrilled to share an exciting update on their gold exploration journey at the Selta Project. Located in the Aileron Province, this project is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.
Highlights of the Exploration Journey
- The high-resolution aeromagnetic and radiometric geophysical survey over the Lander West gold target area is a major success, covering an impressive 4,200 line kilometers. This survey provides a wealth of data to pinpoint gold targets.
- Updated images are being meticulously interpreted, offering a deeper understanding of the subsurface geology and structures. This knowledge is crucial for identifying areas with potential gold mineralization.
- The new airborne geophysical survey results will be combined with ongoing Gradient Array Induced Polarisation (GAIP) survey data and historical geochemical findings. This integration will refine and prioritize target zones for future drilling, bringing us one step closer to uncovering gold deposits.
- Planning for land access and heritage approvals is already underway, ensuring a smooth exploration process.
A Word from the CEO
Tristan Pottas, FDR's Chief Executive Officer, shares his enthusiasm:
"The completion of the high-resolution survey at Lander West is a significant milestone. It has enhanced our understanding of the subsurface geology and structural controls on mineralization. We are grateful to Thomson Airborne for their timely and professional work during the holiday season.
The integration of AMAG/RAD data with GAIP survey results and historical geochemical information will allow us to systematically refine our gold drill targets. We are excited about the quality of the datasets and look forward to advancing Lander West's exploration journey."
Unveiling the AMAG/RAD Survey Outcomes
The AMAG/RAD survey, conducted by Thomson Airborne Pty Ltd in early January 2026, utilized 100m spaced flight lines to generate high-resolution magnetic and radiometric datasets. The survey revealed detailed images of structural features, lithological boundaries, and alteration signatures across the Lander West gold target area.
Figure 1 showcases the original regional AMAG data anomaly image, while Figure 2 presents the newly acquired first vertical derivative (1VD) of total magnetic intensity (TMI) filtered AMAG anomaly imagery. This processing method sharpens shallow geological effects, identifying a newly discovered granite contact in the north, which is a key driver for hydrothermal fluids and heat, potentially leading to gold mineralization.
Understanding the Lander West Gold Target
Following detailed studies, FDR has identified Lander West as a priority focus within the Selta Project. This target area has been supported by a comprehensive gold targeting study conducted by Resource Potentials Pty Ltd (ResPot), a renowned Mineral Exploration and Geophysical Consultancy based in Perth, Western Australia.
Lander West is believed to be a continuation of the Stafford Gold Trend, where adjacent grounds host high-grade gold and antimony mineralization in the same geological units extending to the southeast. Gold mineralization is associated with shear zones, deformation, and hydrothermal alteration, creating subtle magnetic variations. The AMAG data has identified a large granitic batholith with smaller granite stocks along its margin, which are likely sources for Au (and Sb) mineralizing fluids, forming Intrusive Related Gold (IRG) and skarn-type gold targets within FDR's land holding.
Next Steps and a Data-Driven Approach
Interpretation and 3D inversion modeling of the integrated AMAG/RAD, GAIP survey results, and geochemical datasets are currently underway. This process is already guiding the planning and prioritization of future air-core (AC) and reverse circulation (RC) drilling programs at Lander West.
FDR aims to maximize discovery potential while maintaining a disciplined and cost-effective exploration strategy. As interpretation progresses and exploration activities advance, further updates will be provided, keeping stakeholders informed.
Conclusion
The Selta Project's gold exploration journey is an exciting venture, combining advanced geophysical surveys, historical data, and expert interpretation. With a systematic, data-driven approach, FDR is determined to unlock the golden secrets of Lander West and contribute to Australia's rich mineral exploration landscape.
Stay tuned for more updates as this exploration journey unfolds!
